Get Rates

Get Rates is a checkbox on a Sales Tax that triggers a lookup of the current rates for the Selected State. This might use a Taxes service like TaxJar, a Rates service like Zip-Tax, or a State service like California's.

Check the box if you want Big Business to always choose this entry for Shipping State and to look up current rates using Shipping Address.


  Unlock Alerts

Unlock Alerts is a change to allow Alerts to be added to locked entries like paid invoices.

With Docs Prefs set to Documents and Notes you can add attachments, notes, and alerts for any transaction.

Now you can add an Alert to a locked transaction and the Alert will display when the transaction is viewed.


  Open Event

Open Event features let you access data events to generate automated responses. An example is Tracking on an order that can be set with Web Notify to trigger a notification. These features can be leveraged to make changes, send messages, and so on, the instant a data event, like a change to Tracking, occurs.


  Address Date

Address Date helps you track updates to contact information by recording the date when address information was changed. You can Add(+) the Address Date column in Customers and it is updated whenever Billing or Shipping Name and Address, Phone or Email are changed.

To see Address Date for Customers, click Add(+) to add a column on Customer List.

This Field is automatically updated when Billing Name and Address, Shipping Name and Address, Phones, or Email are changed.

To disable this feature:
1. Go to the Company card, to the Advanced tab
2. Click the checkbox for Disable Address Date
3. Click OK to save the Company card


  Chapter 154 WooCommerce Advanced

This chapter describes Advanced features and settings for WooCommerce Connect.

One such feature is having Big Business connect to more than one WooCommerce enabled site. For this, WooCommerce Connect settings now include a Listing name to keep them straight.


  New Contents

New Contents is a new button on the Help page, bigbusiness.com/help (linked below).

It lists new Chapters by finding their title pages. From there, you can click the Chapter button (grey) to see chapter contents, or click the Next button (green) to go the next page.

Chapters are added to keep content in manageable amounts, of not more than 25 pages. This means there can be a second chapter for a continuing subject.

Tools are added frequently and may need their own Chapter to cover setup and use.

When a tool is extended it may get its own chapter or a second chapter for new features.

Collective subjects may be added to provide an overview of options. Open Database, for example, lists several options for pushing data to an external, open database where it can be repurposed. Typically you would choose one and find a matching chapter for that database.


  Resize Dialog

Dialogs have been updated so they can resize when Auto-Zoom is on.

Auto-Zoom in My Prefs makes windows bigger and resizable.

Now Dialog windows are resizable, like the Postings window pictured which is now bigger than its invoice.


  Resize Item

Items have been updated so they can resize when Auto-Zoom is on.

Auto-Zoom in My Prefs makes windows bigger and resizable.

Now Item card is resizable so layouts like Qty Pricing grow.
