Chapter 33 Backup

Backup helps you create your backup strategy, first by listing options for backing up.

The basic idea of backing up is having an extra copy of your Data File if you ever need. Built-In Backup is the feature of Big Business Server that makes copies, automatically.

Additionally, you may want to copy these copies to a safe place using another routine. There are many options for copying to another computer, removable drive, or services.



  Live Backup

Live Backup works in realtime making a backup without disconnecting your people.



  Backup Controls

Backup Controls are powerful and let you choose most aspects of making backups.

Backups are extra copies of your Data File, for today, yesterday and the day before. These may be handy if something is accidentally deleted and you want to look it up.

  Backup Settings

Backup Settings are added on the Company card to allow Single-User to use Backup.



  Backup to Cloud

Built-In Backup lets you set BigBusiness to makes copies Data to your cloud storage.

Review the choices, such as to keep the last 3 business days. Choose your cloud, like iCloud or One Drive, iDrive or Carbonite, which you trust and let onto your Desktop.

Walk through settings on a quick support call and you're good to go. BigBusiness will make your backups, keep your settings updated, and be ready to Restore if you need.



  Backup Rewind

Rewind uses a custom setup in Built-In Backup to be able to rewind minutes or hours.



  Backup Restore

Restore a Backup File, accessed by holding Option key, lets you restore a backup file.



  Backup Update

Backup Update is an automatic feature to keep the backup settings when you Update.

This feature has changed with new security settings for new operating systems to date.
