This chapter provides a few tips for configuring Gmail though Google Workspace. This is the business service Google offers for managing your company's email using your own domain and giving your administrator control over users' ability to turn on options such as 2-Step Verification, which is needed to enable App Passwords.
Google Workspace offers enterprise services like Gmail using your company domain. You can then use your custom address (you@yourcompany.com) with your email client, like Outlook or Apple Mail, with Gmail in a web browser, or with a Gmail app.
Big Business automates printing to PDF and attaching to a new email. This works with Apple Mail on the Mac and Outlook for Windows or Windows Mail on the PC.

We created a Gmail account for this purpose that went unused so is now deactivated.
Gmail is widely used for professional email and with careful setup can be used with a standard email client to send email from Big Business, or with Big Business Mail, directly from Big Business.
When you first sign into your Google Account that your company has setup to use Gmail with your company domain (you@yourcompany.com), you get a Welcome message explaining that your Administrator controls your access.
Please note in this chapter that some Solutions are for you and your Google Account, while others are for your Google Admin, a person at your company who can change settings that apply to you another users of Google Workspace in your company.
Using Gmail through Google Workplace, the administrator can Allow Users to turn on 2-Step Verification. This is done in the Google Admin controls under Security. It is easiest to go to admin.google.com, sign in, then search for 2-Step Verification.
Once this setting is enabled, users can use Manage Your Google Account to turn on 2-Step Verification and set up an App Password for Big Business to use to send email.

App Passwords let you use Gmail from applications that do not support 2-Step Verification, like older email clients or features for emailing from within Big Business.
Create an App Password for each use and copy and paste into the program in place of your regular password. Name each App Password thoughtfully so you can delete old ones when you create new ones.
We had a problem with Gmail users receiving blank emails from support@bigbusiness.com. The problem only occurred for emails including a link and being viewed in Apple Mail and coming from our Exchange server using Outlook.
We did some testing and concluded that Gmail IMAP Link Protection is part of the problem.
