Chapter 420 BigBusiness 15
BigBusiness 15 will be updated in 2025, receiving changes not found in earlier versions.
This chapter will mention various changes so they are not a surprise and fully revealed. If you need help with any or have suggestions please email support@bigbusiness.com.
The point of online documentation is not completeness but revealing options for you. Finding a blank entry that says the system can do or may do a task you need is a win.
New Database
BigBusiness 15 uses a new database that improves graphics, security, and expansion.
The goal is to make best use of available technology, like the Microsoft Surface laptop with OLED display, or countless online offerings you might connect in or build upon.
BigBusiness plays a central role, drawing your data from its sources, mostly people, but also services, and combining your results for accounting and inventory done easily.
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is the subscription offering of Office productivity apps like Excel, etc.
Spell Buttons
Spell Buttons are a relic and waiting for you to opt out by choosing new Spell Check.
Dialog Buttons
Dialog Buttons are larger to have more space for names and icons and rounded corners.
Rounded corners are more rounded in newer systems and system objects like buttons. Larger buttons are needed to fit the names and icons that fit into previous buttons.
Dark Mode
BigBusiness 15 updates Dark Mode, with an new Database that adapts to your Macs.
Dark Mode for Windows is not supported but appearances for some items is updated. Display on Windows is updated by support for High DPI, high resolution graphics.
BigBusiness 15 Server for macOS is updated to display more legibly in Dark Mode. Server for Mac allowed type to invert. Now it displays the same in Dark or Light.
High DPI
High DPI is a change for Windows users to support high resolution graphics and type.
BigBusiness 15 makes it easier and nicer to work on your Windows computers while improving legibility and enhancing display of changes to pictures, buttons, and so on.
Rounded Corners
Rounded Corners are trending, showing up in windows and objects in system updates.
BigBusiness 15 is adapting to these changes as needed to fit the information you need. For example, buttons may be slightly larger or type slightly smaller to fit smaller areas.
The goal here is useability while retaining your option to choose classic icons or type.
SDI Client
SDI Client is now the standard BigBusiness 15 Client for Windows. SDI is the mode that opens mutiple windows separately so you can see your desktop and other apps.
Search Dialogs
Search Dialogs are the same as ever, slightly enhanced with larger buttons for legibility.
BigBusiness 15 updates the dialogs for fit and finish for high dpi and rounded corners.

List Dialogs
List Dialogs let you create your own entries for lists like Salutation or what have you.

Mac Highlight
Mac Highlight updates use the system highlight color, changeable in System Settings.
Windows Highlight
Windows Highlight updates use the system highlight color which is unchangeable blue.
Print Options
Print Options let you choose which forms to print or email and where to send them.
Print Options are updated for fit and finish for high dpi and rounded corners. Plus, there is a new total at the bottom of the copies column so you can see what's coming.
Show Copies
Show Copies adds a total for the Copies column on Print Options to show how many.
