Shopify Editions are biannual updates to Shopify such as Winter '25, Summer '24, etc..
Editions help you take advantage of new offerings or technologies and needed updates.
Shopify Service
Shopify Service helps you keep up with the new offerings in new Editions of Shopify.
Shopify Source ID
Shopify Source ID helps identify the Web site or POS register that entered each order. If you have one web site, no problem, but you may have many POS registers or apps.
Each iPhone, iPad, or Android device you put Shopify POS on is tracked as a Register. If you accept Cash, Shopify POS will keep track how much you should have for each.
In turn, BigBusiness can use the Source ID to identify the Register and set any presets. For starters, you might want Entered By filled in on each Invoice for future reference.

Shopify Connect is being updated to separate your online and in-person transactions.
You might want online sales to become Sales Orders while POS sales become Invoices. You might want each online customer saved, while walk-ins might not be. Up to you.
BigBusiness 15 will offer more options for saving, or not, sorting, or not, and whatnot.
