Customer Lookup is the feature that finds a customer match when using Import or any feature that uses mappings like:
• Alternate Item Code Import
• Auto-Import
• BigCommerce Connect
• Invoice Import
• Order Import
• Payment Import
• Shopify Connect
Customer Lookup finds a customer match like this:
• if the entry is blank it does nothing
• if the entry contains an at symbol (@) it looks at Email Addresses:
+ for Customers
+ for Contacts (multiple buyers or online accounts per customer)
• exact match for Customer Code
• exact match for Customer Listing
• use Default Customer
For some customizations it looks at Ship ID (multiple Ship-To's per buyer).
