Print Setup in Windows Vista

Running Big Business 5.1 on Windows Vista may require visiting the Print Setup dialog at least once to ensure proper page alignment.

This Solution provides instructions for printing for the first time from Vista. (6003)

Big Business 5.1 includes the option to suppress the Print Setup and Print dialogs to enable the printing of multiple forms without multiple dialogs. If you are using Big Business for the first time on Windows Vista, you may need to click the checkbox on the Print Options screen to Show Print Dialogs to step through the Print Setup and Print dialogs once to ensure proper page alignment.

Vista handily sets up printers, selecting built-in drivers. If you print for the first time without the Show Print Dialogs checkbox, the output may be misaligned (e.g. not centered on the page). This may prompt a needless search for updated printer drivers--many of which have not yet been updated.

One possible remedy is to Show Print Dialogs:
1. On the Print Options dialog (pictured) select one or more forms
2. Click the Show Print Dialogs checkbox
3. Click OK to print
4. On the Print Setup verify the settings and click OK
5. On the Print dialog verify the settings and click OK

Once the output is properly centered you can un-check the Show Print Dialogs option on the Print Options screen to suppress the print dialogs.
