Finding Repeat Customers

Big Business 4.2.8 and 5.0.2 add two new Customer Question and Answer entries:
• Which Customers have more than __ Invoices?
• Which Customers have more than __ Invoices for...

These Q&A choices allow you to quickly find all customers who have more than some number of Invoices, or more than some number of Invoices for a given date range.

Initially, the second question with the date range search did not work correctly and is fixed for Big Business 5.0.4 and higher.

This Solution provides instructions for executing these searches. (5880)

The Question and Answer tool, found in the InfoCenter toolbar and in the File menu, gives you a list of questions which you can choose (double-click) to execute a complex search.

Finding repeat Customers who have more than some number of Invoices (e.g. 1) is now possible using one of the new Q&A's:
• Which Customers have more than __ Invoices?
• Which Customers have more than __ Invoices for...

Select the first question when you want to find Customers who have ever had more than some number of Invoices. Select the second question, when you want to search a specific date range.

For example, say you want to find all Customers who had more than 5 Invoices in the year 2002. Here are the steps:

1. Select the Q&A tool from the InfoCenter toolbar or File menu
2. Leave the Center selector on Customer and scroll to the bottom
3. Double-click on, Which Customers have more than __ Invoices for...
4. On the, Customers with more than how many Invoices?, dialog enter 5 and OK.
5. On the, Invoice created during which time period?, dialog enter the date range:
01/01/2002 To 12/31/2002 and OK.
6. The Customer List will display the results for:
Which Customers have more than 5 Invoices for 01/01/02 - 12/31/02

You can then print (e.g. Mailing Labels or a Customer Address List) or click Save To Disk to export the list as Tab-Text for a Mail Merge or further analysis in a spreadsheet.
