Simple Send

Simple Send is a feature to send email directly from Big Business. One use would be to send notifications like those you receive from unattended mailboxes alerting you to shipments and so on. Another use might be to send from a shared or sporadically used computer where you haven't set up your preferred email client. (7215)


  Aol. Setup

Aol. is a longtime provider of freemium email. We've had thousands of freemium users of Big Business sign up with their AOL address. If you want to send from your Aol. account when you are emailing from Big Business, here's how.

Just Add Aol. to your Send From list using an App Password you create at Aol.com.

You can send email with Aol. without an email program. Just add Aol. to your Send From list.

To Add Aol. to your Send From list:
1. in Send From choose Show List
2. click Add
3. click Aol.
4. enter your Email Address twice
5. enter an App Password from Aol.com
6. click Test to test, then OK to save

To get an App Password from Aol.com:
1. go to Aol.com and sign in.
2. go to Profile, Account Security
3. click Manage App Passwords
4. choose Other App and type a name (bigbusiness1)
5. click Generate
6. copy the Password displayed


  Gmail Setup

Gmail provides multiple options for sending. One is to use your Gmail account with your email client and allow Big Business to send using your email client. This solution describes sending from your Gmail account directly from Big Business using an App Password, which works with 2-Steup Verification. (7217)

You can send email with Gmail without an email program. Just add Gmail to your Send From list.

To Add Gmail to your Send From list:
1. in Send From choose Show List
2. click Add
3. click Gmail
4. enter your Email Address twice
5. enter an App Password from Google.com
6. click Test to test, then OK to save

To get an App Password from Google.com:
1. go to Google.com and sign in.
2. go to Manage Google Account to Security
3. click Manage App Passwords
4. choose Other App and type a name (bigbusiness1)
5. click Generate
6. copy the Password displayed

To use an App Password you must have 2-Step Verification turned On.


  iCloud Setup

iCloud provides multiple options for sending email. One is to use your iCloud account with an email client, like Apple Mail, and let Big Business send using your email client.

This solution describes sending from your iCloud account directly from Big Business using an App Password, which bypasses your email client. (7218)

You can send email with iCloud without an email program. Just add iCloud to your Send From list.

To Add iCloud to your Send From list:
1. in Send From choose Show List
2. click Add
3. click iCloud
4. enter your Email Address twice
5. enter an App Password from iCloud.com
6. click Test to test, then OK to save

To get an App Password from iCloud.com:
1. go to iCloud.com to your Account Settings
2. under Apple ID click Manage
3. under Security, App-Specific Passwords, click Generate Password...
4. type a Label (bigbusiness1)
5. click Create
6. copy the Password displayed


  Outlook.com Setup

Outlook.com provides multiple options for sending email. One is to use your Outlook.com account with an email client, like Microsoft Outlook, and let Big Business send using your email client.

This solution describes sending from Outlook.com directly from Big Business.
Sending with Outlook.com you can use your regular Password, or with Two-step Verification use an App Password. (7219)

To Add Outlook.com to your Send From list:
1. in Send From choose Show List
2. click Add
3. click Outlook.com
4. enter your Email Address twice
5. enter your Password for Outlook.com

If you use Two-Step Verification, get an App Password from Outlook.com:
1. go to Outlook.com to your Account Settings
2. go to Security, Advanced Security Options
3. under App Passwords click Create A New App Password
If you don't see this option, you may need to turn on Two-Step Verification
4. copy the Password displayed


  Yahoo! Setup

Yahoo! is a longtime provider of freemium email. We've had thousands of freemium users of Big Business sign up with their Yahoo! address. If you want to send from your Yahoo! account when you are emailing from Big Business, here's how.

  macOS Monterey

macOS Monterey is expected in late 2021. Big Business 13 is supported on macOS Monterey Beta which was made public in July 2021. (7223)

Big Business 13 is supported on macOS Monterey Beta.

Big Business 12 is not supported on macOS Monterey. Big Business 12 is cerified compatible with macOS Mojave and is supported on macOS Catalina.


  Window Alignment

Big Sur, macOS 11, changes menu heights. In the picture the new window has opened under the toolbar after a system update (changed the internal version of macOS). Big Business 13.18 re-updates the window alignment to correct this.

You only need to update Big Business Server to get the latest changes. You can check in the Big Business Client menu, About Big Business to see what Version you are running now. (7224)
